BAT MALAYSIA IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR AUDITOR – DATA ANALYTICS

SENIORITY LEVEL: Mid-Senior Level Management

FUNCTION: Global Business Services Finance

SALARY RANGE: RM 10,000 – RM13,500 + excellent benefits + market leading bonus

LOCATION: Selangor, Malaysia

 

 

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

To complete independent analysis of data utilising relational databases, big data databases, programming languages and visualisation tools across structured and non structured data to support the delivery of Internal Audits globally. Develop analytics through the analysis of key risk indicators and provide insight into control breakdown root causes through the use of data analytics. Looking ahead with respect of new technologies and the usage of AI to support Internal Audits.

 

Reports to: Audit Manager Data Analytics

Reporting Level: Manages Self (Subject Matter Expert)

Geographic Scope: Direct Business Units Scope

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Participate in or lead IT internal audits in order to form an independent and objective view on risk management practices and the internal audit control environment by:

 

· Identify, design, and develop data analytics extract routines to support audit activities.

· Manage data extraction, storage, transformation, and processing through data analytics/machine learning, and generate output for visualisation/analysis by the Internal Audit team.

· Use data analysis tools to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing and analysing large volumes of data.

· Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements required for analytics.

· Assessing data sources and validating the completeness and accuracy of data received.

· Interact and collaborate with Internal Audit team members in working towards departmental objectives relating to data analytics.

· Perform audit tests of controls by obtaining and analysing audit evidence, preparing audit workpapers, evaluating test results, and drawing conclusions on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.

· Acts as a subject matter expert across data insights and development across audit capability around retail and consumer insights as well process mining and robotic process automation technologies.

 

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· At least 5-6 years of progressive experience in the related field.

· Experience with accounting firm and/or corporate industry experience is preferred.

· Experience in the development and use of data analysis tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI). Other similar tools can be considered.

· Experience with SAP (ERP and BW) data analysis at a database level.

· Experience with tools like SQL Server, Snowflake and Dataiku is preferred.

· Experience in automation tools (UiPATH and Power Automate). Other similar tools can be considered.

· Desirable experience in process mapping, advanced analytics, machine learning and unstructured data processing.

· Minimum qualification – a Bachelors Degree in Data Science/Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body) may be advantageous.
