Role: Manager, Environmental, social and governance (“ESG”), reporting

Purpose of role: The Manager, ESG reporting will be responsible for coordinating and managing the reporting process for Primark ESG reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including internal and external audit. The manager will work closely with the Primark Cares team and supporting functions such as Legal, Finance, Communications and ABF.

Reports to: Global Process Owner, Record to Report and ESG

Location: Dublin Head Office

Principal Duties & Responsibilities


ESG reporting
  • Developing and managing an approach to reporting on Primark’s metrics and KPIs across relevant ESG topic areas within the Primark Cares programme and ABF ESG framework
  • Ensuring external reporting is in compliance with all relevant standards and corporate responsibility expectations
  • Supporting the continued establishment of and measurement of progress against formal quantitative and qualitative ESG goals and targets
  • Managing the governance and assurance process of Primark’s formal ESG reporting
  • Working alongside Technology and Transformation teams in Primark to develop robust and efficient technology solutions for maintaining consistent and accurate tracking and reporting on ESG KPIs and metrics
  • Understanding and communication of the evolving regulations, standards and frameworks for ESG reporting
  • Serve as a resource for internal partners for formal ESG reporting governance
  • Leading the annual ESG reporting process to ABF ensuring completion of external reporting obligations
  • Collaborating with Primark Cares, Legal, Finance, Communications, ABF and others to support Primark’s ESG reporting process
​Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge of external reporting standards, including TCFD, and the wider reporting landscape trends
  • Experience with GRI sustainability standards an advantage
  • Experience in ESG strategy and non-financial reporting frameworks
  • Professional qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles
  • Technical knowledge and experience with relevant ESG standards and reporting frameworks, including TCFD, strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) - need to communicate to all levels within the business.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview.
  • Strong commercial awareness with ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of wider business factors.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen as well as excellent Project Management and communication skills.
  • English is essential and another European language would be an advantage.
  • MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
