The Opportunity

At Leonardo Helicopters, we are responsible for the design of the complete air vehicle and working within the team you will have the ability to participate in all phases of the product design life cycle from participating in leading edge innovation to supporting aging aircraft.
We are currently recruiting for a Financial Director to provide effective business and financial leadership, strategic direction, governance, financial control and business support for Leonardo Helicopters UK.
This role reports to Division F.D. & LHUK Managing Director and leads a finance team of 40 staff. It will also engage with Internal / external auditors, external consultants, Government accountants and divisional, cross B.U. and corporate finance teams.

What you will do

  • Produce, analyse and present Monthly Management Report for LHUK for monthly accounts and finance review.
  • Objective challenge in the LHUK Programme & finance reviews
  • Objective challenge and review in the Divisional legal entity review cycle. Presentation of LHUK to Division MD.
  • Proactive management of cash flow forecast (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Drive LHUK to achieve / exceed its budgeted commitments (Orders, Sales, Revenues, EBiT, Cash flow, OWC & Investment)
  • Preparation of the LHUK annual budget and strategic plan (including options and scenario planning). Presentation to MD.
  • Financial control of LHUK costbase, recoveries & charging rates
  • Critically assess LHUK investments (R&D, ONR, Capex, PBP's). Providing feedback and recommendations
  • Critically assess all LHUK level bids and tenders. (focus on cash flow and dependencies
  • Responsible for LHUK finance career development and business partnering through coaching, education ensuring that skills/knowledge are developed
  • Full responsibility for effective business governance and compliance with IAS, FNM Directives and LDO Finance Policies
  • Collaboration with Divisional Finance, UK central finance, Electronics UK finance & Montegrappa
  • Production of high quality management information and analysis for timely decision making.
  • Proactive management of LHUK performance.
  • Provide financial support and objective challenge to the tendering and investment process,
  • Ensure finance integrity through adherence to Company Directives & Policies, International Accounting Standards and National Laws.
  • Leadership and coaching to the senior leadership team on all financial matters
  • Further development and implementation of the "CFO Business Partnering" approach.
  • Development / coaching of the LHUK finance team through succession planning, hi-pot identification, individual and team development.
  • Effective change management.
  • Provision / justification of appropriate financial accounting solutions where complex business situations occur.
  • Identify mitigation of programme financial risks through challenging the senior leadership team to deliver plans that avoid negatively impacting LHUK performance.
