This is a key role in the Data Controls and Governance Team. The role holder will need to work across the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Data Community of Practice (CoP), using their knowledge of the Bank; its services, processes, systems, tools, data, to design and implement solutions to meet data control requirements.

The role reports to the Senior Data Manager and will be a pivotal role in influencing the value of data risk and control management across the Bank and determining what 'good looks like' for target controls capability.

The difference you'll make.

  • Leading the design and implementation of the new data management and privacy controls, ensuring they meet policy and regulatory requirements as well as business and strategic objectives.

  • Defining implementation plans and metrics to track and report progress as well as communicate risk reduction.

  • Supporting the Bank's Directorates to agree risk and control owners and roles and responsibilities to enable refresh of risk and control self-assessments in Heracles.

  • Delivering controls that meet control policy standards and agreeing suitable operational procedures with Directorates.

  • Providing regular programme updates for relevant governance and risk forums.

What you'll bring.

  • Experience of designing and implementing risk and control frameworks and how this supports effective risk and control management and reporting.

  • Track record of communicating complex data topics in a simple, but impactful manner, so that non-data specialists can understand them

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders in a complex and changing environment with often competing priorities.

  • Good knowledge of data governance, management, architecture and/or data privacy concepts, terminology, supporting technologies, relevant regulations etc

  • Experience of developing risk and control operating models, along with a strong understanding of control operation and how this might influence ownership and assessment of controls

  • Experience of working within a Cloud environment would be beneficial

What else you need to know.

We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role is currently home based and offers hybrid working.

This is a permanent position.

How we'll reward you.

As well as a competitive salary, we offer a wide range of benefits that you can choose from and tailor to your needs.
