What you'll be doing

Provide strong leadership and Business Partnering for District Corporate & Legal Services (CLS) and Strategy, Innovation & Improvement (SI&I) directorates while overseeing the reporting and budgeting process within District Finance to ensure delivery of an integrated and effective service. Provide high level specialised / technical support for the management of finance process for CLS and SI&I to support the efficient and effective operations to achieve business and service objectives.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting or a combination of study and work experience and membership to recognised and relevant professional body.
  • Proven experience in, and demonstrated record of sound achievement and leadership at senior management level in a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing a number of projects concurrently with varying timeframes and workloads in a high volume work environment.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical (including financial modelling) and problem solving skills as well as the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of the management of human resources/financial/administrative/clinical services using strategic/business planning, integration and evaluation skills to ensure available resources are used effectively within District Finance.
  • Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills, including the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area.
  • Highly developed computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and experience in financial reporting and budgeting systems.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
