The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by contributing to firm-wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

You will:

Work as part of a team supporting, enhancing and developing risk management within the Global Corporate Controllers, Liquidity and Investment Funding Controller (LIFC) organization. Additionally, you will build relationships with various colleagues within LIFC, the wider Finance organization and Senior Management to meet the team objectives and deliverables. You will be responsible for:

  • Regular Risk Reporting to Senior Management.
  • Supporting the LIFC organization with the Firm risk agenda, including but not limited to, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Sarbanes-Oxley testing (SOX) and Information Security.
  • Monitoring and Quality Assurance review of Risk Incidents, Issues and Action Plans, and identification of thematic issues, along with suggestions for remediation, as appropriate.
  • Contribution to setting the strategic direction of the LIFC Risk function.
  • Partnering with colleagues and internal clients on various projects.
  • Skills and Experience

You have:

  • A rounded commercial approach to reporting and controllership, with proven skills in chasing issues through many layers to discover root causes.
  • Confidence in building and managing relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and business areas.
  • Strong communication and escalation skills.
  • An ability to self-manage workload effectively whilst balancing multiple deliverables and priorities appropriately
  • Ability to be highly numerate with a close attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills
  • A strong commitment to self-development.
  • Flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)

Qualifications

You have:

  • Professional Accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA or CIMA) or relevant degree/equivalent experience

You may also have:

  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry / experience in Operational Risk or Controls Testing
