Job Description

  • This position is accountable for and lead the delivery of end to end for shared service processes – focus on RTR
  • Key accountabilities include managing the team for month end close, review team performance (accuracy & efficiency) on monthly basis for improvements, manage process improvements, coaching & mentoring team members and develop good customer relationship management

What will your role be?

1. Functional

  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of all functions
  • Manage centralization of new processes into the centre
  • Manage the monthly/quarterly/year-end closing & reporting. Ensure GL module is closed on time
  • Establish the optimal organizational design, processes  procedures to achieve efficiency and quality objectives
  • Resolve critical issues & negotiate with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure internal controls are complying and avoidance of future errors
  • Collaborate with internal team for tracking and solving raised issues
  • Ensure all functions are delivered within agreed service levels (SLA) & targets
  • Supervise & manage the team in delivering respective functions to stakeholders in accordance with established standard operating procedure (SOP) & in compliance with GXS’s finance policies, procedures, and relevant legal and statutory requirements
  • Manage service transition of respective functions from BU
  • Keep abreast with changes of internal guidelines & external accounting standards
  • Guide and coach, the team to update the SOPs accurately & timely

2. Leadership/Supervisory

  • Train & advise team members on processes and procedures. Develop and prepare training materials if required
  • Coach and mentor new and existing team members via on-the-job training
  • Act a role model to team members to encourage good practice, team spirit and a quality-oriented approach
  • Organize and conduct regular team meetings to address and resolve team issues or concerns
  • Manage the performance of the team by conducting OKR reviews & provide constructive feedback for improvements in monthly 1:1s

3. Resource management 

  • Allocate resources and responsibilities across the team
  • Manage  develop a highly engaged team while providing them guidance and ongoing support
  • Establish and mobilise backup plan for staff movements  absences
  • Ensure balanced workload among team members
  • Involve in recruitment process

4. Stakeholders’ relationship

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders
  • Cultivate a customer service culture within the team
  • Attend to stakeholders’ enquiries and concerns in a professional manner

5. Process improvements

  • Drive continuous process improvement and identify standardization opportunities
  • Manage process improvements on the existing processes and achieve time and headcount savings
  • Ensure process improvements are executed timely, accurately and within budget

Your success factors?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business management/banking and/or professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA)

Experience & exposure in banking or financial institution is a MUST

  • Highly proficient in SAP or Oracle knowledge
  • Total years of working experiences: Min 5 years in related fields
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with management, peer, and stakeholders
  • Possess a process-oriented approach with a continual improvement mindset
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and result oriented
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to articulate clearly in both written  spoken English
