Job Description Summary
We're looking for a self-starting, highly motivated individual to join the Retail Divisional Reporting team, responsible for the Executive Reporting activities! You'll be working as part of a team providing insightful, high quality, timely and informative analysis, supporting the Divisional Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team.

Job Description

The Reporting team play a pivotal role in co-ordinating and carrying out analysis across the full breadth of Retail. We work closely with all Retail teams such as Mortgages, Savings, Current Accounts, Motor, Cards and Loans. We provide an integral service ensuring that the Divisional Finance Director has the latest insights into how the Retail business is performing and evolving.

Reporting into the Divisional Reporting Senior Manager, you'll work alongside 6 colleagues, leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Executive MI. Colleagues in the team benefit from a multifaceted view of the Retail business.

Key activities and accountabilities include:
  • Timely and accurate presentation of a suite of Executive support packs for the Retail Division, including GEC / RBBU / Auditors / PRA etc. Along with assimilation of ad-hoc support material to present key messages around hot topics, to our key partners.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information, and where necessary provide challenge. Understand key messages / performance drivers, and relay in a simple, coherent way to the Retail Senior Leadership Team and across Finance and the Business.
  • Bi-monthly attendance supporting PRA meetings with FD's, to capture actions and key notes, building on commercial knowledge and focus points to support future sessions.
  • Experience of crafting presentations from scratch, to relay key messages to partners and offer guidance and options that can be then conveyed in a confident and credible style.
  • Desire to understand the needs of the team's various customer groups and respond accordingly. These include the Divisional Finance Director, Product Finance Directors, Business Partners and Group Finance.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving, and a desire to deliver solutions are essential to ensure the timely resolution of ad-hoc reporting queries and issues. Combined with execution of sound judgment and decision making.
  • Work collaboratively with our partners to develop an understanding of competing demands they face into and commit to minimising the demands we place on them.
  • Act as a team-player, recognising and working to relieve pressure points through shared / collective task ownership.
  • Continually review and challenge existing processes, drive forward change, and champion simplification initiatives!
Other crucial skills and capabilities:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA etc)
  • Energetic and pro-active, able to act on own initiative.
  • Partner management.
  • Attention to detail and self-review with a questioning mentality.
  • Eager to learn and be challenged.
  • Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility for their own work.
  • Display strong leadership skills.
  • Sophisticated Excel skills and ideally experience of TM1.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
