Do you have accounting experience in a busy, forward-thinking and tightly managed business?
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our growing Management Accounting team in Glasgow on a permanent basis.
You will play a key role in the team, working closely with the Senior Management Accountant and wider finance function.
The role will also offer ACCA Study support.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and posting month end journals (eg. Accruals, prepayments, TB movements, reallocations, etc.)
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and escalate variances as required
- Prepare variance analysis and commentary as required
- Running GL reports to assist the Senior Management Accountant where required.
- Assist in preparation of internal and external reports
- Preparation of ad hoc analysis
- Working closely with regional finance contacts to ensure accurate and prompt accounting.
- Liaising with off-shore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure SOX requirements are fully met
- Responsibility for payment of accounts payable and bank transactional activity
Your Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Part qualification of ACCA/CA/CIMA is highly desirable or a willingness to study a qualification
- You have relevant IT skills with basic experience in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using JD Edwards and Concur would be beneficial as would proficiency in balance sheet reconciliations.
- Previous experience working and assisting a management accountant.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to quickly find and problem solve, seeking advice when required.
- Work well under instruction, your own initiative and happy to prioritise your workload to achieve goals.
