Job Description

Job Summary:

  • A VAT technical role, advising on the VAT liability of a wide range of transactions and product offerings of the Private Banking business across the region.
  • Develop knowledge of other VAT regimes applicable to transactions / products (both tax technical and practical).
  • Support the Indirect Tax Technology team in the advancement of the long-term VAT technology strategy.
  • Review of VAT compliance submissions.
  • Work with external tax advisors, as well as partnering internally with global tax and non-tax colleagues.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of VAT issues in the Financial Services sector and a detailed understanding of UK/EU VAT principles.
  • VAT advisory experience (e.g. accountancy firm, law firm or equivalent in-house).
  • A knowledge of VAT compliance requirements and processes.
  • Accounting or Tax qualification preferable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to formulate commercially sound solutions.
  • Being able to work independently, managing own workload and projects.
