Tax audit and investigation
- Provide a “communication link” between client and the IRB, i.e. liaise with the IRB regarding the client’s tax audit matters
- Assist client in extracting and obtaining the relevant documents and information for the purpose of submission to the IRB
- Assist client in reviewing work pertaining to documents required by the IRB
- Assist client in liaising with the IRB vide correspondence, telecommunication, meetings etc. from time to time to finalise the tax audit
- Assist client in liaising with the IRB on the IRB’s tax audit findings
- Assist client in managing the tax enquires raised by the IRB
- Assist client on negotiating with the IRB for an appropriate settlement of the additional tax payable and penalties
Tax health check
- Meet with the client’s finance personnel to discuss and plan our approach and timeframe for the commencement of fieldwork and conclusion of deliverables
- Discuss with the client to better understand the nature of the companies’ business activities and major business transactions
- Review the sample transactions and the underlying supporting documents maintained by the companies, including the sample source documents to determine whether,
- The companies are able to provide timely and relevant information; and
- The appropriate tax treatments have been accorded in compliance with the current tax legislation.
- Confirm with the finance personnel and other officers of the Companies on the factual accuracy of the information
Education and professional skills / knowledge
Education:
- A recognized degree in Accounting or equivalent with at least a second class upper classification and / or a Professional Accounting qualification
- Those who are currently pursuing a recognized Professional Accounting qualification are also encouraged to apply
Other skills:
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities in school/university
- Ability to work well as a team as well as independently
- Possesses an analytical mindset and good interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal command of English
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all matters
- Desire to learn and expand knowledge
