As a Data Privacy Manager, you will be the first line of defence for Data Privacy matters across the Ring-Fenced Banking Group (RFBG) by providing specialised data protection advice and guidance to support the business in complying with data protection and associated codes of practice.

The role will provide change assurance & conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments, Legitimate Interest Assessments and Transfer Risk Assessments to systematically identify and minimise the risks and potential effects associated with the processing of personal data.

The role will collaborate with key business, legal/DPO and Third-Party Risk Management stakeholders to ensure data privacy is embedded across all areas of the RFBG.

You'll be part of a close-knit team at the heart of protecting our customers and employee's personal data rights.

  • Managing complex Data Protection Impact Assessments, Legitimate Interest Assessments and Transfer Risk Assessments

  • Delivering complex regulation, statute and conduct information to the business in a way that is simple and easy to understand.

  • Reporting clear, accurate and timely reports on privacy and data protection assessments

  • Providing and promoting a good data privacy and risk culture and across the Team and RFBG

  • Ensuring privacy impacts are minimised and privacy deficiencies and gaps are identified by the DPIA and associated forums and governance committees

What you'll bring.

  • A sound working knowledge of the latest data protection and associated legislation, e.g., Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR); together with ICO guidance and codes of conduct

  • Recognised data protection experience and/or qualification such as ISEB or CIPP/E

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry, the political and economic environment and Santander strategy and initiatives

  • Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills; with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence management and external parties

  • Demonstrated experience in developing relations with senior stakeholders

  • Evidence of working in a complex business supporting, maintaining, and developing comprehensive Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs)

What else you need to know.

This is a permanent full-time contract, with flexible location (Bradford, Milton Keynes) and the opportunity to work flexibly between home and office. We welcome applications from all over the country.

The role will involve regular contact with key stakeholders including the Bank's Data Protection Officer, Privacy Lawyers, Data Protection Advisory and Governance Teams; Third Party Risk Management; Heads of Data and Data Owners providing further development opportunities.
