Assistant Manager - Financial Service Audit
The financial services industry is a fast-paced exciting place to work. We are looking to recruit at levels, in particular at Assistant Manager and Manager. You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of financial services clients. You will have direct access to partners and the ability to provide a valued opinion within the team. Excellent opportunities exist for ambitious and driven candidates to progress within the firm. Our portfolio consists of hedge funds, SPVs and banks. We have grown a strong team over the past 3 years with 40 dedicated audit staff in our Kildare office - with wider support from over 300 other experienced professionals including partners in the Dublin, Galway and Cork offices.
Main responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for a portfolio of financial services clients
- Assisting and motivating the team, allocating administration tasks (including staff and job allocation) job planning, training needs, staff issues, identification of resources required etc.
- Acting as a technical resource for financial services covering a range of accounting standards to include US GAAP, IFRS and Irish GAAP. This will include training and the production of internal and external technical information
- Supervising and training more junior members of the team to ensure that firm standards are maintained throughout the entire audit process
- Reviewing the work of the staff and seniors
- Managing work in progress, billing, cash collection and budgeting.
Skills and attributes:
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- Audit experience of financial services entities preferable (or potentially recent audit experience together with experience of working in the financial services sector)
- Working knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and Irish GAAP
- The ability to motivate and manage staff under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Portfolio management experience
- Electronic auditing experience
- Proven network of contacts in financial services
- Experience of working as part of a team supporting others
- Commercially aware.
