This role is ideal for an ACCA/CIMA/ACA finalist or fully qualified accountant. Good management accounts knowledge, a personable character, and the ability to deal with a busy workload are essential skills to be successful within this position.

Job Title: Management Accountant

Salary: Competitive

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 09:00 - 17:30 - 37.5 hours per week

Location: Bury St. Edmunds

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Production, review, and ownership of month-end results in conjunction with other finance team members.
• Business partnering with Operational Managers to monitor performance to the budget including analysis of contract results and sector P&L analysis.
• Understanding and owning all divisional contract details to drive the performance of the division.
• Build relationships with non-financial stakeholders and provide financial analysis, insight, and guidance.
• Monitor, complete and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Building relationships with other divisional and wider finance team members.
• Support sales ledger team with income allocation and billing details.
• Assisting with audit queries and ensuring accurate working papers to support all postings.
• Ownership of forecasting throughout the year and annual budgeting processes.
• Performance of any other ad-hoc duties as required.
• Deputising for divisional Financial Controller when necessary.

About You:

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload to meet important deadlines regularly.
• Experience within a busy finance team working with a variety of stakeholders, both financial and non-financial.
• Confident communicator with the ability to articulate financial information and analysis to stakeholders, both written and verbally.
• Proficient analytical skills to investigate variances and trends.
• Strong attention to detail with strong Excel skills including the use of formula and pivot tables using multi-system source data tables.
• Independent thinker, keen problem solver with a 'can-do attitude.
• Minimum CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified/finalist or sufficient QBE demonstrated through previous positions held.
• Previously held management accountant role within a large corporate organisation.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 desirable.
