Assistant Accountant

Page Personnel are currently recruiting for a rapidly growing logistics business based in the Wakefield area. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant who is actively studying an accounting qualification.

Due to growth within the team, our client now has a fantastic new opportunity available for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-established Finance team and a comprehensive study support package.

Description

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for assisting the preparation of the monthly accounts. This position will also take ownership overseeing some elements of the transaction finances.

This will include processing sales & purchase invoices, balance sheet & bank reconciliations, cash book preparation and posting, cost analysis, prepayments and accruals preparation & posting, supporting preparation of statutory accounts, supporting VAT return preparation and assisting with any ad hoc tasks where required.

Profile

• Be part qualified/qualified AAT or actively studying (CIMA, ACCA)
• Previous experience of working in a finance environment
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Hold at least an intermediate level of Microsoft excel experience
• Excellent organisation skills and a hands-on approach, with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently
