Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Staff Accountant will support the North American Finance Department in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions,month-end close and financial statement processes, journal entry preparation and review, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and other financial activities.
In this role, you will be asked to:
- Collaborate effectively as required with local Utah finance personnel in addition to the larger North American finance group
- Perform various month-end bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Create invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare, verify, and record customer payments
- Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, invoice contacts, etc.
- Identify delinquent customer accounts by reviewing reports/files, and draft correspondence for collections purposes
- Manage credit card and expense reporting processes
- Enter and process vendor bills accurately and in a timely manner, with a broader understanding of the accounting implications of the vendor transactions
- Create and send paper checks as necessary
- Initiate vendor bill payments by ACH/wire on a regular basis
- Prepare, review and post payroll-related journal entries
- Assist with updating and tracking team budgets
- Assist with the migration of financial data between major accounting systems
- Perform accounting research as requested to ensure the proper treatment of transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Perform analysis of budget-to-actual variances and period-over-period changes in the financial statements
- Develop, generate and review various vendor, customer, and financial statement reports to assist with the Finance Department’s reporting needs
- Provide audit support through the compilation of information to internal/external auditors
- Identify opportunities for and implement task efficiencies and process improvements
- Perform other duties as requested

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- One to three years of related experience preferred
- Experience with SAP accounting systems preferred
