Audit Quality Department and ISQM1
The audit quality department is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of quality initiatives across the practice. Joining the audit quality team would allow the successful candidate to be at the forefront of change and would offer a unique opportunity to help shape and develop practical initiatives to improve audit quality. 
ISQM 1 requires the firm to design, implement and operate a Statement of Quality Management (SOQM) to manage the quality of engagements performed by the firm. The firm’s SOQM creates an environment that enables and supports engagement teams in performing quality engagements.
The standard applies to all firms that perform audits or reviews of financial statements, or other assurance or related services engagements, and will become mandatory from 15 December 2022.

About the job

The role will involve project management skills to drive the operational management and reporting of the ISQM1 implementation to 15 December 2021.  It will involve coordination with multiple stakeholders and service area specialist across the business streams and monitoring and reporting against key milestones. 
A fundamental part of the role is about the communication of issues and actions in a clear and timely manner. An ability to leverage existing relationships internally or develop these will be fundamental to helping drive the project forward.

This role is a unique opportunity to be involved in a high-profile project which will have a lasting impact on the firm for years to come. It will also provide exposure to multipole senior stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

About the candidate

  • A manager or strong assistant manager
  • Internal audit experience, working on:
  • Process mapping
  • Gap analysis
  • Controls’ development and testing
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues in a concise and understandable manner.
  • Confidence and a proven track record in project management alongside the adaptability to deal with changes to timelines and plans.
  • A team player, able to collaborate with others to achieve shared goals and objectives.  
  • A strong understanding of proportionality and the ability to make sound decisions about the significance of issues.
  • A challenging and sceptical mindset coupled with high attention to detail.
