International Institutions and Donor Assurance (IIDA) works closely with global clients such as UN agencies, the European Commission, Foundations and other Development Agencies, particularly those involved in international development. IIDA provides assurance services, including financial and systems audits, certifications, internal control assessments, technical assistance, and consultancy services to international institutions

You’ll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.

About the role

As an Audit Senior, lead meetings with clients, beneficiaries and you’ll represent IIDA and BDO in person before multiple stakeholders which can include multiple international development agencies and partners. There will be significant international travel (up to 50%) and you’ll

• Prepare a plan for all assignments based on a good understanding of the terms of reference and the applicable contractual conditions
• Lead opening meetings with clients and auditees and present the audit findings clearly and credibly at closing meetings (virtually and/or on site)
• Leading audit teams, including local country based staff, on overseas assignments
• Lead audit teams performing remote audits from London, ensuring the coordination and organisation of work to be conducted on a remote basis
• For smaller assignments, be able to work alone (remotely and on-site)
• Demonstrate the ability to identify issues and report on areas of non-compliance

You’ll be someone with:

• A professional accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / DEC or equivalent)
• Fluency in English and French
• A genuine interest in international development
• An ability to communicate in a professional, constructive and respectful manner
• Proven track record in audit and assurance work
• A love of international travel
• Experience of working/volunteering internationally advantageous
