GL Accountant

The Role

Our client, a leading Medical device organisation is seeking a GL Accountant to join their team in Athlone. This is a permanent role with hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for reporting duties related to EMEA Recharge entities and other EMEA entities

• Preparation of US GAAP accounts and month-end close for EMEA Recharge entities
• Ensure the presentation to corporate of financial and tax data on a timely and accurate basis.
• Preparation of forecasts and AOP for relevant entities
• Interaction with the Transaction Processing group in Athlone.
• Ensure the integrity and SOX compliance of financial, administrative and legal controls in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
• The preparation and issuance of statutory financial statements.
• Liaise with local auditors to ensure accounts are filed on time and accurately.
• Ensure entities are fully compliant with all relevant local law, accounting standards and filing requirements
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and fiscal requirements
• Prepare the information requested by internal and external auditors

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Business Degree or Diploma including Accounting
• Previous Experience in a Shared Service Centre
• SAP user-level experience
• Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail with good time management skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
