NAS Manager - Audit Professional Services (flexible on location)

This is a unique opportunity to help drive forward our approach in delivering high quality and efficient audits.

As an Audit Technical Manager within our Audit Professional Standards team, you will:
  • Invest time to develop and maintain strong ISA and Grant Thornton audit methodology knowledge, and you will learn from team members by engaging in training and discussion groups in specialist areas.
  • Strong knowledge must be maintained on relevant audit and assurance reporting requirements, ensuring that the firm's guidance resources, software platforms and templates are maintained and updated on a timely basis.
  • You will contribute to professional debates and be involved in the preparation and delivery of training on complex audit/assurance concepts.
  • You will actively contribute to the development, testing and implementation of next-generation audit software and platforms.
  • Work on developing skills in designated specialist areas, working with team members in such areas and develop contacts with other GT service lines, network member firms and external networks.
  • In line with the firm's CLEARR values, you will seek regular feedback and identify learning/development needs to grow technical and personals skills as well as provide team members with feedback. You'll contribute to the smooth running of the department, by suggesting and implementing any process improvements.
  • By taking a front line role on providing technical advice and expertise to the audit practice, you help the team to provide appropriately robust, pragmatic and timely technical support..
  • You will contribute to the development of technical guidance and supporting materials in specialist areas and be part of the team that provides proactive support to engagement teams.
  • You will be involved in writing relevant deliverables including consultation responses on specified subject matter area.


Knowing you're right for us

Joining us as a Technical APS Manager, the minimum criteria you'll need is a professional qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA) with post qualification experience, and have experience of engaging with a technical team on complex queries to ensure you have the skills and experience to provide excellent support to our Audit teams. You should bring a good knowledge of the ISAs.

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
  • In depth knowledge of ISAs (UK), IFRS and/or UK GAAP
  • Excellent insight and analytical skills in order to interpret data and make sound and robust technically- people- and commercially- based decisions
  • Previous experience of working in, or with, a technical team in a professional services environment
  • Communication skills - a strong ability to articulate technical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
  • Team work/collaboration - Working closely with others with different skillsets and experience to develop the best solutions to complex questions
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and relevant audit software.
