The Insurance Analyst role is part of the State Street Global Advisors Fixed Income Cash and Currency (“FICC”) Insurance team. The Insurance Team is responsible for managing approximately $11billion of insurance assets as well as monitoring/reporting on $45B of insurance assets. The Insurance Analyst is a key contributor to the success of the insurance mandate and a critical member of the client facing team who oversee the investment mandate, analysis and reporting for our strategic Insurance clients. In this role, you will interact with multiple groups within the client as well as cross functionally with Portfolio Management, Credit Research, Technology, and Operations teams, to ensure that all client requirements and needs are met.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform credit research for selecting/monitoring of portfolio credit exposures/opportunities
  • Execute ongoing service in support of the client including analytical and informational support; monitoring/reporting on investment positions, monitoring adherence to investment policy guidelines, and preparing informational materials for quarterly investment review materials
  • Work with any necessary teams to help resolve all client-related administrative and investment operations issues as needed. Direct new account on-boarding related to the client portfolios.
  • Work with technology and operations teams to maintain data quality and continually optimize portfolio reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in investments
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in credit research
  • MBA with emphasis in finance and accounting and/or CFA strongly desired
  • Ability to work in a client facing role with direct day to day contact with the client
  • Excellent attention to detail and awareness of deadlines
  • Strong Analytical thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Execution focused; comfort working in a fast paced environment where priorities change regularly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in related programs including but not limited to Aladdin, Axioma, Microsoft
