This Accounts Assistant role is ideal for someone with some business / accounting experience to join a thriving finance team. The role will be responsible for all aspects of transactional finance including AP, AR and banking.

Client Details

My client is a leader in the communications industry. They are an exciting strategy in the coming years and this will create opportunity to learn / develop. Their head accountancy office is based in the City of London and this is a hybrid working role.


As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for the following:

  • Sort, code and match purchase invoices
  • Enter purchase invoices into iDocuments
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve differences
  • Deal with supplier account queries via telephone and email, and resolve queries promptly
  • Prepare payment runs and supporting documents for separate companies in different currencies
  • Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Process staff expenses (credit card and cash)
  • Raise AR invoices and credit notes on a timely basis
  • Deal with customer account queries via telephone and email, and resolve queries promptly
  • Allocation of debtor cash and posting daily receipts from customers
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding debt
  • Support the month end close, where necessary
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Accounts Payable
  • Assist with month end closing


To be considered for this Accounts Assistant role you must have the following:

  • Organised individual with solid attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Confident communicator and excellent people skills
  • Keen, flexible attitude
  • Some office / business experience
  • Working knowledge of AP and/or AR processes (desirable)
