Overview

We are looking for a French native-level speaking Accounting and Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our international team and support the Financial Controller by ensuring objectives are met with regards to financial management, cash and debt management, financial planning and forecasting. In particular, you will focus on Accounts Receivable.

This is a fantastic opportunity as you will be exposed to many aspects of accounting and therefore you will develop your skills within a small team. This role requires a confident communicator who will be in touch with our families, speaking both French and English.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Assistant/Officer-level accounting duties;
  • Manage and take the lead on the invoicing of school fees and additional chargeable
  • activities to parents;
  • Preparation of invoices and collection of debts for all aspects of the school life (tuition fees, after school activities, field trips, etc.);
  • Reconciliation of the accounts to understand which families' payments are outstanding;
  • Liaison with the other members of staff on a monthly basis to ensure all income recorded via the bank is accounted for;
  • Daily bank receipts processing;
  • Maintain customer database and set up new customers as required;
  • Reconciliation of a number of balance sheet control accounts, including deferred income;
  • Assist in the preparation of the organisation’s monthly and annual accounts and supporting financial statements and working papers;
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller in matters such as placing orders, communicating with French institutions, etc.;
  • Undertake any other reasonable ad-hoc accounting tasks as requested by line management.

Education & Experience Required

  • French native-level speaker;
  • Qualified to a degree level with relevant accounting qualification ideal (Part qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified AAT);
  • Confident communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French/English;
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable ideal;
  • Work to high professional standards in terms of quality, timeliness and confidentiality;
  • Dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback;
  • Demonstrate ability to report back to line manager on unresolved issues and/or uncompleted tasks;
  • Adaptable with an ability to prioritise;
  • Organised and accurate with attention to detail;
  • Flexible and willing to learn;
  • Ability to show tact, diplomacy and professionalism at all times, especially in relation to collection of debts;
  • High level of IT skills including Word and Excel.
