Your role
Are you ready to work in the second line of defense for the top global wealth manager? Can you build relationships and influence outcomes, as well as develop and implement innovative solutions? On the Compliance and Operational Risk (C&ORC) team at UBS Global Wealth Management (GWM) you'll be responsible for working with our business to identify and mitigate potential risks.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
• assisting the Head of Securities Backed Lending (SBL) Compliance and our Chief Compliance Officer with ensuring that we stay in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations across securities backed lending products and services
• providing guidance and advice to our SBL group on an on-going basis regarding changes in laws and regulations impacting BUSA; influencing executives on key compliance and conduct risks and actions required to mitigate risk; and interacting with federal and state banking regulators and internal auditors
• leading an annual review of all compliance risks associated with the SBL business line, and evaluate and provide consultation on new initiatives, business objectives, processes, risk events, controls, compliance monitoring & testing, and marketing materials
• working with our Legal and business teams to determine accurate process requirements and appropriate process implementation to ensure we adhere to consumer protection laws
• strengthening and ensuring resilience in our SBL Compliance Management System pillars (policies, procedures, trainings, monitoring, complaints) across our UBS Bank USA (BUSA) products, processes and staff
• reporting to senior management within Legal, Compliance and the business regarding SBL compliance matters and escalate any identified potential concerns to the Head of SBL Compliance and our Chief Compliance Officer

Your team
Compliance and Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) is part of the Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance (GCRG) function. The GCRG function is the center for compliance and operational risk control, governmental and regulatory affairs as well as investigations and governance matters. We aim to ensure that all compliance, conduct and operational risks are understood, owned and managed to our risk appetite. We are responsible for providing independent oversight and control over the compliance and operational risks arising from our business activities at a global, regional, divisional and entity level.

You will be working with the Head of Securities Backed Lending (SBL) Compliance, our Chief Compliance Officer, Securities Backed Lending team, Bank Compliance Officers (BCOs) and the Compliance Monitoring & Testing team, in the Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance (GCRG) function of UBS Bank USA.

Your expertise
• a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or higher is preferred
• ideally 10+ years of compliance experience in a banking institution. regulatory agency or major consulting firm, with specific focus on securities backed lending and experience with digital banking platforms and services, including online/mobile
• experience in leadership, both in terms of people as well as projects and initiatives with solid strategic, judgement and integrative thinking skills, risk management and risk assessment knowledge and strong organizational, communication and influencing skills
• sound knowledge of consumer compliance banking laws and regulations, specifically Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and broad understanding of financial products (including securities and banking products) and how they are distributed to individual clients
• experience with an international client-facing businesses (e.g., sales forces - including financial investment advisors, broker-dealers)
• structured, rigorous, analytical and thorough in your approach with the ability to form defensible conclusions from risk assessments and testing results, with strong and sound judgement, able to articulate views, assessments and approaches both verbally and in writing precisely, concisely, logically and accurately including with visuals where required
• team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, able to calmly manage conflict and pressure in a demanding, high-volume environment and capable of prioritizing based on changing internal or external demands
