Description

Key responsibilities are:

* Undertake audit reviews, and other ad-hoc assignments, as directed by the Internal Audit Manager.

* Undertake project related reviews as required including attending project / steering groups where appropriate.

* Maintain a strong and open dialogue with audit management and other key stakeholders including: regularly apprising senior management of control issues and trends; and making practical recommendations.

* Produce formal written reports for Senior Management and other key stakeholders.

* Complete planned work within specified target dates, and to agreed departmental standards.

Profile

The skills and experience required are:

* Relevant professional qualification (MIIA, ACA, ACCA, etc).

* 2 years post-qualification experience operating in a senior internal auditor / internal auditor role and delivering audits from planning through to reporting. Our client is also interested in hearing from candidates who are currently working in external audit in practice.

* Up to date knowledge of internal auditing techniques and standards.

* Preferably experience working in the financial services sector not essential.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Strong analytical skills.

* Ability to make professional judgements on the adequacy and effectiveness of control frameworks, demonstrating commercial awareness and sound business judgement.

* Ability to challenge and influence.

* High degree of personal motivation and initiative.

* Confident and professional.

* Able to work in a team or individually.

* Effective time management and ability to prioritise workloads
