The Partnerships and Transfer Agency business units provide a full range of Investor and Client Servicing functions to clients in the Registered and Private Funds space. The Business Management team supports the overall running of the business functions through leadership, collaboration, assessments, and execution. The role of the Business Management Team Senior Consultant will be diverse in its scope of responsibilities across the two business units. The role will encompass leadership, support and oversight of key business initiatives, monitoring financial and operational performance, and leading audits and remediation efforts, as some of the Team's core business functions. Working closely with the teams' leadership, the role will monitor business performance, provide proactive leadership and guidance to strengthen controls and mitigate operational risks.

Major Duties

  • Business performance and planning. Monitor business performance against SLAs.
  • Business Strategy and Growth. Lead the development and communication of the business unit strategy.
  • Serve as point of contact with Finance for forecasting/planning and central coordination and oversight of unit costs.
  • Track capacity levels across teams; open posts and year-end savings.
  • Assess strategic change; perform proactive review on the change initiaitives, end-to-end.
  • Lead innovation and develop process improvements to mitigate operational risk, improve processes and ensure adherence to controls
  • Perform Root Cause and trend analysis as it relates to operational oversight.
  • Collaborate with Business teams to assess the Business Continuity Plans (BCP), & identify gaps and deviation from BCP.
  • Ensure that current policies and procedures are in place (and are being followed) for business unit functions and are in compliance with organizational standards, audit concerns and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for governance of Vendor & internally outsourced activity.
  • Regulation; work to understand the impact of new regulations on the business; communicate updates and plan for implementations, as needed.
  • Lead audits and remediation efforts. Ensure proper documentation is in place, collaborate with impacted teams, and track progress.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit/function
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Expert Microsoft Skills, including Excel, PowerPoint
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to drive deliverables
  • Able to collaborate across lines of businesses
  • Ability to work with big sets of data, analyze and find conclusions
  • Translate initiatives into presentation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change

  • 7+ years relevant operational experience
  • College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of asset management industry and asset servicing products and clients
