Business Manager for Finance and Business Management (CIB F&BM)

Description

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) organization provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. F&BM is comprised of approximately 4,500 employees globally with a wide range of expertise and experience, all of whom are dedicated to partnering with each other and our clients to make our business stronger strategically, financially and operationally.

CIB F&BM is seeking a Business Manager based in London supporting the Finance & Business Management Organization, including Markets, Investment and Corporate Banking, Payments, Security Services, Treasury, Controllers and Controls

Business Management is a Trusted advisor to the business responsible for identifying, escalating, strategizing and mitigating business risks while optimizing performance, driving initiatives and shaping business strategy

Overview:

A Business Managers responsibilities include organizational strategy; data analysis and reporting; budget and expense management, real estate management, recruitment, risk & controls; organizational and systems infrastructure; project management and other areas that ensure the team is organized and productive. The position requires engagement globally across the group and firm, including senior management.

Business Management responsibilities include and are not limited to: 

  • Establish strong relationships across the business and functional support partners
  • Drive leadership team agendas, priorities, meetings, town halls, team off-sites and follow ups
  • Develop executive level business review materials and messaging
  • Drive process improvement and innovation initiatives
  • Manage budgeting & expense management processes, expense tracking and reporting, working closely with the management team, and P&A to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
  • Manage Real Estate processes working closing with GRE and Business support management
  • Manage recruitment processes working closely with our HR business partners and recruitment
  • Evaluate department processes, systems and infrastructure to ensure efficiencies
  • Support the business head with presentations and resolving day-to-day queries or issues
  • Support large projects run on behalf of Finance and Business Management

Skills required:

The candidate should be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, be confident and have excellent communications skills. These characteristics are critical as the role will have global exposure, accountability and responsibility.

  • Previous experience in finance, business management, project management and/or operations
    • Prior experience within finance is not required but would be helpful
  • Think strategically; active curiosity
  • Aptitude for technology, systems and understanding organizational structure
  • Maintain a sense of urgency,  be proactive and accountable
  • Must be able to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Uphold strong business ethics when dealing with sensitive information
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Superior interpersonal and collaboration skills; detail oriented
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word & Power Point
