Head of Financial Accounting

As Head of Financial Accounting for the North Region, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all the Technical Accounting processes across a number of countries covering various currencies. You will also be responsible for managing a small team.

Description

• Ensure that Group Reporting deadlines are met in a timely fashion and accurately.
• Taking responsibility for a smooth Year End Audit and making sure that all audit queries are appropriately handled
• Production of Year End Financial Statements for all legal entities
• Ensuring that month end reporting is completed to internal deadlines
• Ensure that all Corporation Tax Computations are performed timely and accurately with the help of external advisors where agreed
• Be the key point of contact for Group Accounting and Reporting to talk to Regional Accounting matters
• Effective management of direct reports and coaching other team members via on the job training
• Recommend enhancements to the system to improve efficiency, ways of working and/or new business models

Profile

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Strong preference for someone who has come from and trained in an External Audit background
• Experience working within a Retail/FMCG environment would be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience managing a team
• Strong Financial Controls experience
• Experience in a sizeable blue chip commercial business would be an advantage
