How will I help?

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Risk Assurance, Technology you will perform assurance reviews over SOx, Prudential, Value Chain, Theme, delivered risk (i.e. to be controls) of key projects (i.e. those assessed as high risk). Furthermore, you will prepare draft review reports issued to stakeholders to ensure alignment with Risk and Compliance Assurance Manual requirements and delivery of appropriate insight and conclusions.

In this role you will maintain and deliver the annual assurance plan and contribute to the preparation of quarterly Risk and Compliance Committee reports including the identification and reporting of trends and insights. You will provide constructive contribution to the Westpac Groups Risk and Compliance forums to achieve alignment and identify / share best practice opportunities.

Daily roles and responsibilities include:
  • Assurance reviews in accordance with the bank's Risk and Compliance Assurance Manual
  • In-depth automated, general IT controls and application reviews for SOX
  • Application/Automated controls testing over key business controls, segregation of duties analysis, Interface & Report testing and data analytics procedures. This included documenting, assessment, and evaluation of automated systems controls including interface completeness and validity, authentication and authorisation, and input/ output controls to support sensitivity of data and privacy.
  • ITGC over systems applications, database, operating systems, and network.
  • Prepare Audit reports and socialize them with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Risk and Compliance Assurance Manual requirements and delivery of appropriate insight and conclusions.
  • Influence business unit teams to embed risk monitoring & control practices.

What do I need?

A strong candidate will bring experience in financial services and/or assurance knowledge in order to effectively and efficiently design and execute testing plans, review scopes, and reports. You will have detailed understanding of Technology Infrastructure and Information Security Systems coupled with experience in auditing automated business controls. You will be proficient at facilitating meetings and presenting findings at business unit level risk forums and committees.
