Part Qualified Accountant

Our client is seeking a Part Qualified Accountant (or someone studying towards accountancy qualifications or with relevant work experience) to join their growing Finance team based in Kidlington. This is a hybrid role.

Description

The Part Qualified Accountant will have a wide range of responsibilities including:

• Supporting with the financial accounting month end
• Provide cover for the UK Management Accounts Manager.
• Contribute to ad hoc cost analyses for new business/new product proposals
• Reconcile and explain monthly cost of sales
• Ensure that month-end inventory is correctly valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value
• Deliver month-end inventory reporting in accordance with strict deadlines
• Maintain standard costs & Transfer Prices within our system
• Ensure that controls over physical inventory levels, including counts and adjustments, are adequate
• Identify areas for improvement in inventory management, including preventing stockouts and preventing overstocks
• Hold regular meetings with key inventory stakeholders on site, to provide support and guidance to their queries and to drive improvement.
• Ensure compliance with the accounting policies and procedures manual in all areas concerning standard costs and inventory
• Drive harmonisation and efficiencies in procedures across all EMEA locations
• Monthly management of the fixed asset register, additions, disposals and calculating depreciation accurately.
• Management and control of the assets in course of construction to prevent overspend and ensure appropriate timing of capitalisation.
• Assist with other finance activities as required. E.g. month end reporting, Group Finance information requests, support with transition onto new ERP system

Profile

The successful Part Qualified Accountant will have previous experience in a finance function and be looking to develop their career within accounts, ideally alongside their accountancy studies. Please apply even if you are not yet Part Qualified!

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience with month end accounting processes within previous finance/accounting position.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Experience of working with ERP systems
• To work as part of a larger team and at times be prepared to take on work outside of the role as required helping the team meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Proactive in identifying areas of improvement and working on own initiative.
• Able to work effectively under pressure.
• Highly organised / structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate a large number tasks simultaneously.
• Highly pragmatic - ability to use process / structure appropriately to achieve high quality results in required timescales.
• Ability to quickly identify the underlying root cause / principles of a situation.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in areas outside own area of expertise. Often with cross-functional Superiors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence people at all levels within the business.
• Commercially astute.
• Ability to understand what customer's value and to help to deliver profitable solutions.
• To treat all colleagues in a respectful manner at all times.

Job Offer

The salary on offer is highly competitive between £30,000 and £40,000, plus a generous benefits package, study support and a hybrid working pattern.
