Reporting to: Assistant Financial ControllerMain Purpose of Role: My Cheshire based client is seeking a detail-oriented Management Accountant to work under the direction of the Assistant Financial Controller who reports to the Head of Finance. This role will assist in, and be integral to, the preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and operation of the internal controls systems. You must be able to work as part of a team, but also independently, with the highest levels of integrity.To be successful as a Management Accountant you should have strong accounting skills and knowledge of relevant industry regulations. The ideal candidate will be well organised, have good time management skills and excellent attention to detail.Key Responsibilities:* Significant contribution to the production of robust and timely monthly management accounts in accordance with the accounting conventions (5-day reporting timeframe).* Support in the production of monthly information packs / reports for inclusion in the finance reporting pack.* Support in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.* Profit and loss account analysis.* Variance / KPI development, analysis, and presentation.* Balance sheet reconciliations at each month end.* Support in the preparation of cash flow forecasts.* Management of the fixed asset register * Assist in the preparation of statutory year end reporting:* Ensuring adherence with formal accounting standards adopted by the company.* Preparation of lead sheets and back up information.* Presentation of information to auditors and responding to their queries.* Corporation tax analysis.* Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.* Support with initiatives to improve department processes and procedures.* Serve all operating functions of the company and answer ad hoc queries and information requests from department managers and the parent company's finance team.* Become a business partner to several departments within the company.* Comply with Company policy and best practice in security, legal and regulatory compliance.Essential Skills and Attributes:* Ideally fully ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.* Experience of Navision is desirable.Benefits include* Health & Dental Care, Life Assurance Management AccountantChesterFH 789735-40K
