Trainee Accountant

Location: LeicesterSalary: £23,000 - £26,000 pa Hours: Full Time (flexible working policy)The Trainee Accountant will join the existing team of a long-established independent accounting practice based in Leicester. The diverse role will see you assist with expert advice on accounts, personal tax and pensions, together with bespoke bookkeeping, cost control, VAT and management accounts servicesAs a Trainee Accountant, you will be responsible for:*Supporting the team in ensuring assignments are effectively managed, work is completed in a timely manner and specific deadlines are met*Assisting the team in preparation of the year-end partnership accounts and the partnership and personal tax computations*Typing and preparing documents including accounts and letters using Microsoft Word and Excel*Other general admin duties which will include scanning, photocopying, filing and other ad hoc admin duties*Progressing your own professional study requirements with the support of the teamThe successful candidate will bring:*Part qualified AAT*Experience of working in practice is preferred but not necessarily required*Be computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office), and be able to adapt to using new software quickly and easily (Sage, IRIS, Xero etc.)*Excellent attention to detail and thrive on exceeding client expectations*Willingness to learn and developBenefits package includes flexible working policy, 34 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), private healthcare, free onsite car parking, death in service, and performance development.
