Who we are looking for

We are looking for an IT Auditor - Infrastructure Integration and Assurance, Vice President, who will be provide leadership in executing Audit’s assurance coverage over key IT operations, cyber and information security functions within existing and newly acquired IT technology operations. This will include assessing new business and technical control processes, requirements, plans, development activities, testing results for overall alignment with State Street’s strategic technology and cyber transformation and operational processes.

In this role your control coverage areas will include information security, identity access, development operations, change management, incident and problem, and IT operation transformation. You will report directly to the Managing Director for IT Infrastructure and Cyber Assurance, and you will support the annual audit planning and development, risk assessment, scoping and execution of audits related to the global IT processes and risks. In this role you will be based out in Boston, Massachusetts.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As IT Auditor- Infrastructure Integration and Assurance, Vice President you will

  • Engage proactively with IT leadership and business leadership to identify and map critical processes and initiatives to enterprise programs and control frameworks.
  • Plan and execute in-depth risk assessments, technology and process design reviews and operating effectiveness testing across IT Operations and Cyber dimensions.
  • Support the execution of a risk-based audit plan, review and approve audit work products to ensure thorough effective coverage and timely and effective escalation of issues and conclusions.
  • Influence effective and sustainable improvements to processes and controls through insights gained based on risk and control expertise.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with key senior leaders in the IT organization by identifying potential control risks and gaps while development and implementation activities are underway.
  • Manage, coach and develop staff, including participating in the talent management, staff evaluation, and new hire processes.
  • Draft, review, finalize and communicate audit deliverables, including audit findings, memos and audit reports to senior and executive management
  • Participate as a non-voting member of various steering committees, management working groups, promoting balanced discussions and encouraging challenge and debate.
  • Prepare relevant risk and audit reporting to key stakeholders including executive management and governance committees.
  • Provide insight on the evolving technology regulatory environment and interact with regulators.
  • Stay abreast of industry and technical matters and efficiently and effectively apply applicable new developments in audit projects

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of experience in Public Accounting, IT Audit, Consulting, or Business Process Engineering preferred, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in information systems, computer science, accounting or related field; Advanced degree in information technology, cyber security or systems engineering.
  • Proficient or knowledgeable in evaluating and testing internal controls and in applying a risk-based audit approach
  • CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA or other applicable certification preferred; must have CISA or be willing to take the CISA exam within 1 year.
  • Strong expertise or experience auditing certain technology-related areas such as:
    • IT General Controls
    • Automated infrastructure process controls
    • Enterprise systems development and management
    • IT operations (Change, Incident, Problem and Configuration Management)
    • Cyber and Security Processes, Frameworks, Controls
    • Public and Private Cloud technologies
    • Technical Resiliency and Business Continuity Management
    • Emerging Technologies including Public Cloud Services and Digital Asset management

Additional requirements

While majority of the time you will work from your primary location, some domestic and international travel may be required to a variety of locations where State Street operates.
