Specialist – Business Architecture


The role is ‘Specialist, Business Architect’ within the Fund Accounting Change & Transformation group. Your work will be focused on the design and implementation of solutions supporting the end to end fund accounting target operating model; ensuring solutions are in line with the strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Align Fund Accounting strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products, organization capabilities, business and IT initiatives.
  • Develop business architecture strategy based on situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
  • Identify and articulate gaps and opportunities for improvements across Fund Accounting aligning with Product, Business, Client and Industry driven needs.
    • Detailed As-Is process descriptions
    • Detailed To-Be process descriptions
    • Development of clear and detailed value streams
  • Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems / opportunities that may include process improvement, system enhancement, user training and or software procurement.
  • Functions as a liaison to the business and technology to ensure a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology, processes and business areas.
  • Work collaboratively with key domain stakeholders to identify solutions and ensure business alignment with strategic technology roadmap.
  • Elicit, validate, and document a feasibility assessment which includes scope, business justification and provide early solutions and recommendations.
  • Create knowledge share documentation and facilitate and run workshops to educate and solicit feedback from internal and external Partners on new initiatives and initial feasibility assessment.
  • Continue to develop business knowledge and subject matter expertise.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience relevant industry experience
  • Strong, well-rounded knowledge of the asset servicing industry
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze documentation, elicit information and create detailed feasibility assessments
  • Solutions orientated with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong desktop, IT and systems skills required, and an ability to liaise and translate between technical and non-technical departments
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize tasks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Nice to have skills

  • Proficient in Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a financial services organization.
