The opportunity
- Technology Risk is one of the most important risks facing businesses today. Systems and processes are becoming increasingly interconnected and automated and many organizations are now reliant upon technology to drive business strategy and growth. Our clients are overwhelmingly turning to EY for help and guidance on how to protect their assets, minimize business disruption and improve security as they continue to exploit technology and the Internet of things.
- Determine that the work delivered is of high quality.
- Anticipate and identify engagement related risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Actively establish & strengthen client (functional heads & key influencers) and internal relationships.
- Assist seniors & managers in developing new methodologies and internal initiatives.
- Create a positive learning culture, coaches, counsels and develops junior team members.
- Identify & escalate potential business opportunities for the firm on existing client engagements
- Execution on client engagements - Ensure quality delivery as per client requirements.
- Review of working papers & client folders. Suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client service.
- Identify areas requiring improvement in the client's business processes to enable preparation of recommendations.
- Identify & internally escalate and potential red flags related to the engagement.
- Demonstrate industry expertise (detailed understanding of the industry, trends, issues/challenges and leading practices).
- Preparation of reports/deliverables/status updates/audit committee presentations.
- Demonstrate ability of multi-task and manage multiple projects as directed by the managers.
- Ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality & risk management procedures.
- Demonstrate an application & solution-based approach to problem solving technique.
- Manage the engagement budgets and support superiors in developing marketing collaterals, business proposals and new solution / methodology development.
- Develop strong working relationships with client (process owner/functional heads).
- Attention to detail and mentor young interns and analysts within the practice.
- Contribute to knowledge management sessions within the practice.
Technical qualifications
- Expertise in Technology Risk
- Strong technical knowledge in the areas of application, network, cyber, data and cloud security.
- Strong knowledge of IT controls, ITGCs, ITACs, SOX controls testing
- Strong knowledge in IT Service Management
- Experience with enterprise risk management methods
- Experience conducting extensive IT audits
- Ability to understand and correlate the risk data from various sources and effectively use it to monitor/showcase risk to the firm
Skills and attributes for success
- A recognized university degree in business, information technology, computer engineering, or other relevant discipline
- Minimum of3 years of work experience in IT audit or IT risk advisory for a public accounting firm, a professional services firm, or within industry
- Relevant consulting or industry experience, preferably in a professional services environment or MNC
- Project management skills, and able to manage concurrent engagements as a Team Lead
- Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
Ideally, you'll also have
- CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CGEIT certification or related professional qualification
- Experience of coaching and developing junior team member
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build and develop relationships
- Commitment to delivering excellence in client service that will stand you apart
