Responsibilities Include:

The Liquidity and Funding Controller (LFC) team vision is to deliver value to our stakeholders/Regulators through becoming the global center of excellence for firm-wide liquidity and cash traceability reporting and analysis.

The LFC team is currently represented in our Glasgow, London and New York offices. The Glasgow team is primarily responsible for supporting the firm?s liquidity reporting to the Prudential Regulatory authority and Federal Reserve Bank. The team works closely with the Regulatory Control and Treasury teams in the other locations, to investigate and understand the impact of liquidity movements on the PRA and FED reporting.

The Data Quality team in Mumbai is responsible to support the Glasgow team in maintaining effective daily proof and control over the Liquidity Hub, which is the key source of data used for liquidity reporting across the Firm. The current role requires the team to deliver on Monthly data controls built for accurate and timely Regulatory reporting.

The successful candidates? key deliverables will include the following:
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Liquidity Data with General Ledger
  • Monthly Axiom vs. Liquidity Hub Data
  • Monthly Legal entity reconciliation
  • Monthly review of daily controls to identify deficiencies in key controls and ensure liquidity data and reporting is materially accurate
  • Document the outcome of control activities & investigations performed to support an effective audit trail
  • Prepare ad-hoc product level adjustments based on the outcome of queries & investigation of exceptions
  • Developing a strong working relationship with key stakeholders across the business to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Working within defined Service Level Agreements (SLA?s) you will support the Global LFC team in the production of materially accurate regulatory report and support the required compliance and regulatory requirements.
Timely issue resolution and escalation of issues as they arise
  • Managing our responses to ad hoc queries on data in the Liquidity Hub
  • Managing the process for data-level testing on changes to feeds to the Liquidity Hub
Qualifications
  • Strong Academic background preferable
  • Strong controls background, with the ability not only to operate but to challenge the operating effectiveness of existing controls.
  • Analytical thinker, meticulous work style and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Experience in managing large amounts of data, perform reconciliations with a strong attention to detail. The ability to analyze and interpret data, to draw to a meaningful conclusion is essential.
  • Communication skills are essential, especially in addressing technical and quantitative issues.
  • Advanced excel skills are essential and a knowledge of Business Objects / Cube would be beneficial.
Skills Desired:
  • The successful candidate will ideally hold an accounting qualification from a recognized Accountancy body.
  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in accounting/ reconciliations/month end close process
  • Financial Services experience and/or knowledge of investment banking products would be desirable
