Client Details
My client is a well-established business based in Lewes. They are needing a Finance Officer to join the team, working on a hybrid basis.
Description
As the Finance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervision of one member of staff (Finance Assistant)
- Recruit & develop skilled, confident, resilient and caring staff through effective coaching & management of their induction training, performance, appraisals and managing any attendance issues
- Process and reconcile all monthly imprest accounts, investigating and correcting any errors and providing feedback to imprest holders
- Reconcile monthly summary of all individual accounts to the control account
- Process top ups via online banking facility and ensure services do not go overdrawn
- Responsible for auditing of accounts at various locations across the south, and being available as the primary Departmental resource to carry out a full investigation and report in the event of a financial discrepancy being found.
- Responsible for planning, developing and delivering imprest training to organisation
- To review and update the policy and procedures
- Manage the preparation of files, back up paperwork and Input to ledger system from bank downloads to capture all Debit transactions from main bank account
- Responsible for all direct debit processing to ensure control over monies leaving the bank account, and ensure all payments are correctly coded in the GL
- Set up and / or authorise ad hoc bank transfers to suppliers, staff members and clients
- Manage the import of mobile phone and other communication bills and liaise with IT re costing
- Provision of statements to Service managers and reconciliation of client accounts. Provide Individual client statements for relatives as requested
- Challenge and review departmental processes and ensure policies and procedures are fully documented
- Provide assistance as needed for Purchase ledger processing including supplier payment runs and processing of ad hoc payment requests. Set up new suppliers on Sun accounting system and provide account maintenance
Profile
To be successful in your application for Finance Officer, you should be:
- AAT Qualified (or equivalent)
- Competent User of Microsoft Excel
- Experienced in a varied role
- Able to work on a hybrid basis
