Our client for this position is a global investment manager currently investing on more than 550 institutions worldwide. They currently have a requirement for an IT Business Analyst to join their global IT operations department. Initially offered as a 12 month contract the role has a high likelihood of future extensions and growth.

The Role:
As the IT Business Analyst, you will be responsible for Investment Applications support, engagement with business stakeholders to understand and capture requirements and work with the wider IT team to deliver and implement enhancements, fixes and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide business analysis support to client areas for changes or enhancements to systems and for resolution of errors.
- Project manages delivery of enhancements to existing applications. Includes defining requirements, design, development, testing, implementation and IT Operation team handover.
- Carry out analysis and testing of enhancements and upgrades for core systems.
- Provide QA testing to fixes received from vendors or in house developed applications.
- Ensure that all information-reporting requirements are managed effectively.
- Effectively deal with users to understand issues reported/requests received and deliver the appropriate solution/service
- Liaising with IT Managers, Team Leaders and colleagues regarding potential problems
- Liaise with external software vendors and service providers
Required Skills & Specialisms:
- Experience in Funds Management or related area.
- Experience (5+ years) in IT Business Analysis or related area.
- Exposure to international best practice in Investment Management Operations and Data management advantageous.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Accounting or related study preferable
- Qualifications in Finance advantageous
- Certification in business analysis (e.g. BABOK, CBAP, CCBA) preferred.
- Exposure to some of the following would be advantageous:
- Bloomberg AIM/PORT, FactSet, SQL Server, FIX protocols, Omgeo CTM, SWIFT messaging, Aladdin, Efront, Salesforce.
- Fund accounting software - e.g. VPM and Investran (FIS products).
- SQL Server databases, Azure DevOps (Team Foundation Server), Service Now.
- Automated batch job schedulers.
- Risk and control frameworks appropriate for IFM Investors companies.
- Optimisation software - Northfield, Axioma, Barra.
