Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin's attractions and brands on a global scale , we are looking for a Senior R2R Finance Manager - Merlin Attractions (Fixed-Term) to join our Finance team. This role will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office.

This role reports into the Head of R2R on a 9-month fixed-term basis.

About the Role...

  • Manage and review team activities to ensure compliance to internal and external policies and SLAs
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliation process is robust, accurate, and we are following up on reconciliation items in a timely manner
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating activities to deliver the period end close within company deadlines
  • Set up and manage appropriate review activities with divisions
  • Supervise accounting activity across international legal entities
  • Analyse team activities to identify areas for standardisation
  • Work to reduce the number of journals being posted by the business each month and ensuring those that are processed are justified and comply with company policy
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) exist for all processes being followed
  • Ensures system of accounts and records are properly maintained
  • Ensures compliance with accounting and tax statutory requirements
  • Coordinating preparation of Audited Financial Statements
  • Work with Head of R2R, R2R GPO and Head of Performance & Process Improvement to build a strong process improvement roadmap of activities and contribute to the delivery of agreed items
About You...

  • Experience of leading and developing a team with (5 years +) in a shared services role preferably within a similar operating model & size of organisation
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA - 5 years + PQE
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of R2R processes
  • Experience with complex financial systems landscape and data structures
  • Experience & knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, six sigma etc with practical application within previous roles
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Proactive individual with the ability to both operate strategically and tactically and able to effectively manage multiple challenges whilst maintaining high quality throughout
  • Experience of working in an SSC environment
  • Experience of multi country, multi region financial control
  • Strong team management and leadership, able to drive partnerships with networks and relationships across the business
  • Strong communication skills necessary to manage wide portfolio
  • Coordination with divisional finance organisations to highlight/resolve issues
  • Ability to identify key stakeholder groups and provide the appropriate level of detail for financial information
  • Creates clear plans and objectives for delivering benefits from change
  • Has the insight to know when change is required
  • Can act as a role model for our company values and behaviours
  • Experience in coaching/mentoring team members to develop their skills
  • Resilient personality with good inter-personal skills and able to quickly adapt to changes in priority
  • Drive and determination to push processes and procedures through to a successful conclusion - delivery focused
