Job Description & Summary
The Accounting & Payroll Services at PwC Bermuda provides a range of accounting and payroll process services to both local and international clients.Our experienced team of accountants offer varied services ranging from the preparation of financial statements to fully outsourcing accounting and payroll services. We also undertake administrative duties such as the management of banking arrangements including preparing payments, funding accounts and preparing regular and ad-hoc reporting.
We currently have a diverse client portfolio which includes, among others, private enterprises engaged in investment holdings, policy administration and property management, insurance and private trusts and organizations operating in the not-for-profit sector.
Responsibilities will include and are not limited to:
- Project management that includes extensive client and other stakeholder interactions;
- Managing multiple client engagements and deliverables;
- Monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting;
- Payroll processing and reporting, including preparation of payroll tax filings;
- Management, coaching and development of more junior team members.
Prior experience in an accounting role which includes day to day recording of accounting transactions, payroll administration, managing of client’s banking arrangements and other client administration work, is essential.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience with financial statement preparation is also essential, with working experience of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises in Bermuda and Canada (“ASPE”) preferred.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Due to month end reporting deadlines - flexibility to work beyond core hours will be required from time to time.
The successful candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University, as well as an accounting designation, such as the CPA, CA, ACA or ACCA, with a minimum of 3 years work experience at a public accounting, or equivalent service organization.
