With over 350 employees from a multitude of backgrounds, the Finance department in Cork supports all functions of Apple in EMEIA, as well as being a key part of the Global Business Solutions (GBS) function! Our Record to Report team consists of over 70 people responsible for a wide range of areas including Fixed Assets, Treasury, Intercompany, Inventory and Revenue Accounting, plus a team of regional lead accountants responsible for statutory and tax compliance along with legal entity oversight. This role is primarily responsible for managing the accounting, US GAAP, local statutory & tax compliance functions for our legal entities in EMEIA. You'll have excellent relationship management and analytical skills, and be tasked with managing and the regional compliance. You will also work closely with the other GBS accounting organisations in APAC, China, and AMR, as well as regular project work.

Key qualifications

  • Discernment, excellent partnering skills and awareness of the big picture.
  • SAP experience is desirable and also other reporting / visualisation packages like GBI or Tableau.
  • Statutory financial statements and corporate income tax return compliance experience in UK GAAP (FRS102) or UK tax.
  • Self-managing, with a proven track record of resolving issues against demanding timescales
  • Ability to build effective relationships, through excellent leadership, collaboration, problem solving, project management and communication skills.


  • Overall financial accounting responsibility for a number of EMEIA entities, primarily UK services entities but potentially including others in the future.
  • Setting roles and responsibilities within GBS and the wider finance functions for new and developing processes.
  • Working with AMP / WPC & IS&S finance teams in EMEIA and AMR.
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly close process (US and local GAAP) for entities under your control is implemented flawlessly and that the month end close timetable is followed by accounting functions supporting the regional close.
  • Responsibility for high quality financial statements, corporate income tax returns and other compliance filing for legal entities within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with other Accounting Managers to ensure consistent treatment of corporate finance policies across all regions.
  • Maintain data integrity of SAP to ensure GAAP and reporting requirements are met.
  • Assist the R2R team in all external audits, including tax audits from governmental agencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring processes are SOX-ready, and support GBS initiatives and ad-hoc projects as requested.
  • Ensure appropriate systems, processes, tools and business relationships exist to enable effective legal entity controllership and compliance.

Education & experience

  • Qualified Accountant
  • 5 Years + post qualification experience
  • Multinational experience is a significant advantage
