About the role

Due to continued growth and demand we are adding to our finance team with an Operations Accountant. As this is a site-based role you will be based from Charleville, Kerry promote a hybrid working policy so this will operate on 3 days in the office and 2 days remote working.

As part of the operational team, you will be working with a range of different teams within the business including the factory side, our Charleville site is also known for producing a well-known cheesy snack!

What will I be doing?

  • Calculation of prime costs through SAP and settlement of production process orders
  • Calculation of monthly cost of sales and tie back to the general ledger
  • Analysis of material usage, yield and wastage and seeking explanations on variances where required
  • Complete General Ledger - Journal posting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Accounts review and finalisation
  • Inventory Control, Reconciliation & Valuation - Financial Control, Perform & review period end stock reconciliation
  • Oversight of the weekly Forward Projection (“Flash”) report, providing regional management with a real-time assessment of current month business performance 
  • Business Performance Reporting and Analysis- Operational performance review of statistical reporting.
  • Budgeting and forecasting - Providing support around Sku prime costs, overheads, factory yields & labour
  • Year End Audit & Statutory Accounts - On site physical stock / Asset audit.

What do I need to be successful?

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in Finance and Accounting 

This role is covering our sites in Southwest Ireland and our business language is English. Any additional language skills would be hugely beneficial.

These Include:

  • Being a fully qualified accountant with either ACCA, ACA or CIMA
  • Demonstrating a passion for manufacturing and farming as this is beneficial to the workings of the site
  • Being highly business aware with confidence to prepare and provide management accounts & Financial accounts
  • Being competent in all Microsoft packages especially Excel and also having knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Demonstrating a strong attention to detail and being a great team player
  • Being comfortable in dealing with a range of employees in the business
  • Being confident in working to deadlines
