As the accounting & finance control associate, you will work closely with the head of accounting reporting directly into the head of financial management.

The purpose of this position is to run activities for month end, related to registration of administrative expenses, staff costs and establish controls, to ensure the correct registration of accounting flows of invoicing payments.

This role resides within the accounting department of Santander London Branch (Non-Ring-Fenced branch of Santander Corporate Investment Bank in the UK)

What you'll bring.

  • Controlling the payment process to suppliers and payroll

  • Managing registration in accounting system of administrative expenses (general expenses and staff cost, payroll), tax (corporate and VAT), fee.

  • Preparing information to elaborate the VAT and Corporate tax returns

  • Managing payable and receivable accounts of Group Santander projects

  • Analysing current account reconciliation items

  • Supporting the budgetary process and interacting with key counterparties and stakeholders in the UK and Group

What you will bring.

  • Fluent in Spanish language

  • Experience in an accounting department and control function with Equation system knowledge

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • A high degree of IT skills - knowledge of front office booking systems as well as Microsoft software products

  • Accountant qualification

  • Knowledge and understanding of treasury / wholesale products and services, including cash and funding instruments, derivatives, equities, and bonds
