This is a hybrid, permanent role for a company operating in the Finance and Accountancy industry with an office in the City of London. This role provides great flexibility and is an ideal position for someone early on in their finance career.

Description

The successful Finance Assistant - Hybrid Working will be responsible for the following:

  • Involvement in all aspects of the monthly client invoicing and staff / contractor payment cycle, including:
    • Time-sheets
    • Expenses
    • Producing invoices
    • Assisting with monthly payroll processing
    • Setting up contractor payments for authorisation
    • Monitoring invoice payment receipts and assisting with debtor management as required
  • Supporting the Financial Controller in fulfilling the company's statutory reporting obligations including assisting with annual audit.
  • Assisting with various weekly and monthly reconciliations
  • Assisting with updating and maintaining the finance system including creating and importing revenue, supplier and payroll journals.
  • Undertaking ad hoc general administration as required.

Profile

The successful Finance Assistant - Hybrid Working will be possess the following:

  • Well-organised, with excellent ability to prioritise and capable of managing own work-load, including at times working without supervision.
  • Self-confident, with the ability to make decisions on own where appropriate, but also to recognise where input from senior people within the business is required.
  • Conscientious, with a positive, pragmatic attitude, flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in - there will be a range of tasks required, some more interesting than others.
  • A quick learner, with excellent attention to detail and the ability both to follow set procedures accurately and to work from own initiative.
  • A good communicator (both written and verbal), with strong people / interpersonal skills.
  • Good general IT skills, in particular proficient in Word and Excel.

Desirable

  • A background in, knowledge of, or interest in finance administration. The role would be suitable for someone looking to progress into an accounting role. For the right candidate, we would consider study support towards AAT or a similar qualification.
  • Previous experience using an accounting system.

Job Offer

The successful Finance Assistant - Hybrid Working will benefit from the following:
