The opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Compliance officer within our Assurance service line in Malta. You’ll be supporting our Assurance team with regulatory compliance matters and will be involved in a number of projects. These are exciting opportunities for graduates with 3-5 years of experience to accelerate their careers in a dynamic international business.
Your responsibilities
- You will use the technical knowledge you develop and client-facing experience to support with Financial Crime Compliance, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Transaction Monitoring and Account activity reviews
- Supporting assurance projects on an ad hoc basis
- Interacting with clients to collect all the necessary data and information to carry out the audit
- Support the planning, leading fieldwork, managing performance and keeping engagement leaders updated on audit engagements. Completing audit processes and documenting higher-risk areas to increase your technical and business skills in areas such as revenue, costs, financial instrument and tax
- Analysing the data that goes into a financial statement to make sure it is true and fair
- Skills and attributes for success
- Managing projects and managing different stakeholders as appropriate
- Completing audit processes and documenting higher-risk areas to increase your technical and business skills in areas including revenue, financial instruments an income taxes
- Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
- Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Masters in Accounts, ACA/CA/ACCA or an equivalent international qualification (preferably first time passes)
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
- Experience of the audit process would be an asset
- Experience in project management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
- Understanding of Q&RM procedures
- Compliance with and understanding of regulatory requirements
