Grab led consortium has been selected to receive a digital banking license in Malaysia, subject to meeting all of BNM's regulatory conditions. Malaysia digital bank will accelerate access to financial services for underserved Malaysians. Get to know the Role:

Manage projects related to financial reporting across all phases of project life cycle including (but not limited to) design of technical requirements, risk & mitigation plans, issue resolution, UAT and execution, identify interdependencies across other work streams within Finance department and other projects, where appropriate, manages communication with relevant stakeholders.

The day-to-day activities:

Financial Reporting – Entity Level

Ensure timely and accurate production of:

  • monthly flash results – complete with analysis of the performance quarterly financial statements for Board and BNM
  • Annual audit
  • Annual Budget and 3 year business plan (entity level)
  • Lead the entity’s annual budget exercise – business direction, budget assumptions (eg. Growth rates, interest rates etc) Preparation of budget templates Review submission from business heads and support functions Consolidation Overall review of results and to engage with relevant stakeholder to fine tune the target numbers Presentation to management
  • Fixed Assets listing and depreciation

Direct and Indirect taxes

  • Corporate Tax
  • Annual Corporate
  • Tax submission
  • Quarterly tax computation
  • Tax estimates submission
  • Maintenance of capital allowance listing

Sales & Service Tax including Digital Tax

  • Bi-monthly SST and Digital Tax submission

Compliance

  • To ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance to MFRS
  • Regulatory reports are prepared in accordance with respective regulatory body guidelines
  • To comply with bank policy and standard local procedures

Operational Finance

  • Ensure smooth month end closing with minimal post-closing adjustments
  • Annual review of chart of accounts
  • Annual review of list of manual postings into GL
  • Quarterly review of accruals and provisions

Productivity and Efficiency

  • Periodic review of workflow processes with the objective to improve productivity and efficiency

Management

  • Build a strong and reliable financial reporting team
  • Job rotation amongst team members
  • Adhoc assignments from CFO

The must haves:

  • At least 10 years of working experience preferably in a financial institution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related fields
  • Knowledgeable in financial reporting and a strong appreciation on the accounting standards
  • Ability to plan and execute
  • Highly agile – able to work at high level or detailed level depending on circumstances
  • Able to work under pressure, flexible and open minded
  • An effective communicator who believes in team work and is dependable
