Digital investment advice software services, which represent a key strategic initiative for NTAM, are increasingly utilized in all major aspects of the investment management value chain including asset allocation, portfolio construction, trade execution, portfolio analysis and performance reporting. Fully integrated technology-enabled investment solutions are emerging to address the needs of investment advisors and financial professionals.

As Senior Product Manager, you will have a background that demonstrates a passion for innovation and resourcefulness in developing client centric digital products. Reporting the Head of Product, the Senior Product Manager will bring a creative vision, superior problem-solving skills, and great product instincts, and have the ability to get things done. You will lead strategic priorities with focus on reducing the complexity of solutions that optimize efficiency and effectiveness across design, development, delivery, client support and evolution of Northern Trust Asset Management's digital investment advice business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Passionate about leading product management function within multi-disciplinary agile team to develop and enhance features that contribute to our digital strategy
  • Responsible for working with key stakeholders to translate research and hypotheses into product requirements with clearly defined scope and detailed user stories
  • Prioritize new features based on customer needs, alignment with the company's short- and long- term goals, and technical capabilities
  • Create and prioritize project backlog: lead grooming sessions to finalize requirements for agile sprints
  • Identify and address target user personas, goals, and needs to devise innovative solutions that solve pain points and drive value for end users
  • Partner with internal technology and business teams to identify data quality issues and devise a wholistic vision to address these issues
  • Collaborate with UI/UX to deliver user focused wireframes and high-fidelity designs
  • Proactively identify potential roadblocks / obstacles and escalate issues as needed
  • Own go to market planning and feature roll out process; collaborate marketing, sales and service to define and communicate our value proposition to the market
  • Partner with sales and client success team to understand client inquiries/requests and provide clear response in a timely manner
  • Develop market insight by defining the target client segment markets, evaluating industry trends/competitors and defining a market story
  • Diligent in maintaining and communicating core metrics and KPIs for assigned projects
  • Maintain a positive attitude and act as team player in supporting team activities and initiatives
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience product management in financial services; preferably at Investment Advisory, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Brokerage, or a closely related field
  • Experience managing advisor and investor focused projects across multiple work streams with varying timelines, priorities and complexities
  • Deep experience in Agile framework as a product owner, Scaled Agile is a plus
  • Demonstrable experience authoring business requirements, defining user stories and execution, including bringing together cross-functional teams
  • An eye for user experience (UX) and visual design
  • Self-starter who can operate with limited guidance
  • Adept at influencing peers with diverse points of view and building consensus
  • Structured thinker and effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
  • Commitment and self-motivation suitable to a start-up team in a large organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field is required; a graduate degree or professional designation is a plus
