Role: Tax Manager (Income Tax) / Senior Tax Manager (Income Tax)
Responsibilities:
Leading and managing engagements in relation to the provision of Singapore income tax services to clients.
The candidate is intended to be primarily focused on assignments pertaining to income tax services for corporates and whose scope of activities will include but not limited to the following:
• Providing all required support to clients in relation to their tax needs in the area of income tax such as annual compliance obligations
• Advising clients on the income tax implications and applicable treatment of their business transactions (e.g. new business arrangements, cross border transactions)
• Advising clients on tax structuring matters and conducting tax due diligence reviews (typically in M&A situations)
• Developing strong relationships with key contacts at the clients and working closely with the colleagues across the Baker Tilly network and other lines of services
• Providing support for ad-hoc marketing and business development collateral for income tax services
• Assisting clients in seeking income tax rulings/clarifications from IRAS and managing IRAS queries / Audits
Requirements:
• At least 5 years (8 years or more for the Senior Tax Manager role) of relevant tax experience preferably with an international accounting firm
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field, with a professional qualification recognised by ISCA. Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP) (Income Tax) or higher, with SIATP, will be preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. A working knowledge of a second language may be an advantage. Strong analytical skills and keen eye to details, with an ability to work within tight deadlines
• Self-motivated and driven
