Description

The Start-Up Director takes lead in China for strategic watch and identification of

start-ups fitting with Group strategy.The Start-Up Director will establish and execute the overall strategy innovation efforts in China, working closely with global counterparts including those in Europe and USA and venture fund partners.In addition, he or she will have access and interaction with ZEBox, an international incubator and accelerator.

✓ Lead the China hub of Innovation for Group, as he or she represents and our portfolio companies at client and industry

events

✓ Partner with senior stakeholders to define strategic investment priority areas supporting global, regional, and functional business

units

✓ Develop a qualitative deal flow in line with business units needs

✓ Work with partnered VC firms on range of business activities to support their mission and objectives with an eye on long term interests

✓ Proactively work with portfolio companies of Ventures - the dedicated Venture fund of the group

✓ Continually expand ecosystem and network (VCs, CVCs,accelerators, incubators, CxOs, innovation hubs, Universities, Subject Matter Experts, etc)

✓ Develop investment theses, market maps and deep dives on specific market opportunities or technology areas with subject matter experts

✓ Provide consistent reporting/updates and communication to business leaders and key stakeholders

✓ Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders

Profile


  • Excellent in English and Mandarin, French is a plus.
  • Must hold bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with emphasis in finance/ business administration, accounting, statistics, or economics


  • Minimum 7 years of experience in venture capital, growth/private equity with broad, active network of co-investors and entrepreneurs


  • Domain expertise and interest in supply chain (transport & logistics)
  • Experience driving partnerships with Global 2000 companies across the world.


  • Experience working with senior executives
  • Experience building deal flow and relationships with entrepreneurs, senior executives, and industry expert
  • Must be a self-starter, comfortable working with minimal oversight, taking on new tasks on-demand / as needed with strong ability to multi-task
  • Desired to have strong spreadsheet and presentation (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) skills
  • International experience or ability to work across international cultures
