Your field of responsibility

This role is an outstanding opportunity if you are looking to be part of the fast moving world of Treasury. You will have broad exposure to senior management and a wide range of critical treasury management matters. Treasury is a diverse function, responsible for safeguarding and optimising the banks financial franchise, maintain the targeted liquidity and capital structure and ensuring uninterrupted funding sources across market cycles.

Join us as a key member of the Guernsey Treasury team, in which you will support the head of Guernsey Treasury in the execution of the department mandate as follows:

  • Governance and stakeholder management: Provide coverage support for all Treasury related matters for local country management / internal partners, as well as external partners (regulators, auditors). Support the implementation of appropriate local governance processes / forums for Treasury topics. Establish positive relationships with the regional treasury team and assist in implementing initiatives locally.
  • Funding, Liquidity and Capital management Framework: Provide local oversight on entity level liquidity and capital management strategy. Support full compliance with internal and regulatory liquidity and capital frameworks and associated risk controls, whilst executing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Execution of Treasury trades including but not limited to foreign exchange hedging, nostro squaring, intercompany funding, interest rate risk hedging and debt issuance. Whilst performing these trades you will be responsible for remaining within risk limits.
  • Strategy and Change - Collaborate with local partners to understand and review new business and Treasury / IT infrastructure change strategies impacting the Guernsey legal entities to ensure they are fully understood and assessed.
  • As part of a small specialised team, you will be required to deputise for the Head of Treasury on all matters.

Join a small and highly motivated team of Treasury Generalists, interacting locally with partners across all functions and divisions such as Wealth Management Front, Global Trading Solutions (GTS), Legal Entity Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources and IT. Firm wide, you will interact frequently across regions with Global Treasury, Global Liquidity Group (GLG), Group Finance, Wealth Management Finance, Product Control, New Business and IT.

Treasury offers flexible working where working time can be spread to partially work from home and partially from the office for an agreed amount of days per week.

Your skills and experience

Attention to detail is essential, along with accountability and integrity due to the responsible nature of the role:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, analysis within a banking environment are preferred. However, applicants from other backgrounds with relevant skills will be considered.
  • Excellent quantitive, qualitative and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel. VBA knowledge would be a great plus.
  • Accuracy and control focus with “right first time” / “zero error” mind set.
  • Knowledge of the asset, liability and basic financial products commonly employed in financial markets for trading and risk management purposes would be very beneficial. Basic knowledge is a requirement.
  • Results-oriented individual with outstanding communication skills, and a genuine dedication to expand network and knowledge.
  • Be a dedicated team player who is able to organize and manage daily workload around the needs of the team and the role whilst showing initiative.
